Embroidered Peplum Tank

This tank!  I love the peplum style and the embroidered details.  It also comes in an ivory color that would look fabulous with dark jeans!  And this price is perfect at only $36.

Earlier this week, on one of my many grocery runs, the most delicious Fall smell hit me as I walked through the door!  It wasn't the PSL at the Starbucks right inside the door, it was the smell of something baking, a mix of cinnamon and spice.  I made a beeline straight to the bakery section.  It was a pumpkin spice walnut cake with a cream cheese/buttercream frosting.  Oh.  My.  Goodness, it went straight into my cart!!  As soon as I got home and unloaded the car, I dug in!  It was amazing, even better than it smelled.  My first real taste of Fall so far that i'm still thinking about.  It was so good my husband said he'd love to just lick the icing right off the top!  He's not even really a dessert person.  (I know, they do exist)  I think I'm going to try and recreate this recipe!

Fun fact about me, I love to bake!  It's a time where I can relax and destress.  It's very therapeutic for me.  There was a period of time last year where my anxiety was out of control.  It wasn't really one event that had me all tied up but a series of things, one on top of the other.  The one thing that really helped me relax was being in the kitchen baking.  It was my "happy place".  It was the opportunity to really forget about my stresses and focus on what I was doing.  Unlike cooking, baking requires precise measuring and concentration, which helps me push out the swirling thoughts in my mind.  It requires me to really be in the moment.  It helps me to slow down and be deliberate in my actions and of course yields a yummy end result!

I think any physical task that requires concentration can be a stress reliever.  Such as baking, working out, painting a room, gardening.  What is your stress reliever?

  1. Loving this peplum shirt! I had some peplum in a more stiff material and ended up not wearing them much because they felt too formal. This is the perfect balance -- you can layer it, wear it solo, dress it up, dress it down.

  2. You look darling as usual! This outfit looks like a perfect fall transitional look. After reading your post, I have gotten into the baking mood as well. When ever I bake, I always love to share with family and friends since my husband and I can never finish all the goodies ourselves. One of the best ways I love to relieve stress in dive into trashy reality tv and feel thankful that my life is way more drama free. ;)
