Workout with Color

Capris: Athleta (I'm wearing an XS) // Shirt: Athleta, also love this for a tighter fit // Sneakers: Adidas Boost

Being active is important to me, whether it be going to my favorite gym or doing something active with the kids.  For me, it's a stress reliever and just makes me feel good.  My favorite outfit combo to workout in is capris and a tank.  But sometimes I get tired of wearing my plain black capris.  Luckily there are so many options out right now for fun patterns and colors.
Athleta has some great spring workout clothes.  I love the colors and print of these capris and they are so silky soft.  This same print also comes in these shorts and this bikini!  Once the weather warms up, I'll wear these capris with a simple tank, like this one.  This tank comes in so many colors and I love the loser fit when I'm working out.
I am also craving these capris from Athleta with the tropical print and these with the green watercolor print!  So fun.

If you want to give the printed athletic pant a try, I linked 5 more fun pairs below.

Just Peachy

Sweater: Loft, Lou & Grey // Jeans: Loft Modern Skinny (I'm wearing petite) // Bootie: Target // Tote: Francescas // Watch: Michael Kors // Spike Bracelet: Stella & Dot // Layering necklace(old): love this and this

Do you shop at Loft?  If not, you should go take a look.  They have some great pieces right now and always seem to have a good sale going on.  In fact right now their sale is BOGO 50% off on tops, sweaters, jeans, pants.  I really like this sweaterthis pattern sweatshirt, and this blouse.  I can see myself running errands in this dress or this adorable print dress.
Today's Lou & Grey sweater first caught my eye because of the two-in-one layered look and the shirttail hem.  The light peachy color is gorgeous.  It's a flattering, flowy, easy pulled together look.  This is my first pair of jeans from Loft and I love them.  They are soft and fit really well.  I'm 5'4" and wearing a petite.
These booties from this post are a current favorite of mine.  They are great for transitioning into Spring and I'm sure you'll see them a lot over the next few weeks!!

Lemon Bars

Over the weekend we got around 6-7 inches of snow.  And while the snow covered trees are pretty to look at, I'm ready for Spring.  I have been thinking of warm sunny weather and counting down the days until our spring getaway to Florida.  These lemon bars are just the dessert I needed! They have a wonderful citrus flavor but it's not overwhelming.  I came across the recipe for these a couple years ago, and they have been a hit ever since.

****

Start with flour and sugar.  Whisk together and then cut in cold butter with either a pastry blender or 2 knives.  It should have crumbly texture like below.

Press the crumb mixture into a greased 13x9 inch pan.

Bake at 350* for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.  While the crust bakes, mix eggs, lemon juice, flour, sugar, and baking powder with an electric mixer for about 3 minutes or until frothy and a light yellow color.

When the crust is slightly brown, remove from oven and pour the lemon filling mixture on the warm crust.  Bake 20-25 minutes more or until browned and set.
Allow the lemon bars to cool completely before adding the glaze on top.  Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

ENJOY!!

Undercover Beauty Products

We love to try new beauty products!  In looking for that perfect miracle product, you go through many that you end up tossing after a few uses.  Today's post is all about the products we have found to create a "perfect" base layer under your foundation.  We are not cosmetic pros and this is all based on our opinions of what we are loving lately.

Erase Paste by Benefit is ahhh-mazing!!!  With 3 kids and busy schedules, sleep can be limited, creating tired eyes and dark circles.  This is great at brightening and camouflaging the dark circles.  The "salmon" color really disquises the under eye circles.  It comes with a "spatula" but I prefer to use my ring finger and gently dab it on.  This can be purchased at Sephora or Ulta.

Maybelline 'Baby Skin'.  Have you seen this yet?  We just purchased it last week and have fallen in love.  It is supposed to be very comparable to Benefit's Porefessional primer but at a less expensive price.  This is not a pore filler but has blur technology to "blur" your pores and create a smooth even looking finish.  It is a clear gel but goes on to a silky "powdery" feel and creates a great base to apply your foundation to.  In the week I have been using it, I have seen quite a difference in how my foundation holds up and looks smooth.  I feel like some of the fine lines have been "blurred" out too.  I purchased this at Walgreens.  Maybelline Baby Skin

Hello Beautyblender and welcome to my make-up world!!!  This has been a game changer.  Have you ever applied your foundation and then realized that it looks caked on?  Ugh.  This is perfect for a streak-free even application of your primers, foundations, and high-lighters.  After getting it wet and squeezing out excess water, it doubles in size.  I dab foundation onto my face and then use the beautyblender in a gentle dabbing motion to blend it in.  Beautyblender and Cleanser

L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream - This is supposed to do it all!  It primes, hides imperfections, hydrates, and corrects skin for an even complexion.  I don't use this everyday under my foundation.  But some days that I feel like I need a little more "help", I apply a thin amount all over and then my foundation.  On days I'm going to the gym I'll apply it just to even out my skin and give a slight color.  (I'm not a "make-up to the gym" kind of girl but in the winter months a little color is nice).  Or if you are running errands and don't have time for a full make-up routine, this is a great option.  I really like using it on summer days when I've got a little sun on my face and don't need the full-coverage of my foundation.  L'Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream  Can also be found at your local drug store.

Tucks Hemmoroid Cream - Does it look weird to have this on our list?  I don't use this everyday, but when I wake up with puffy eyes, it works wonders.  Dab a tiny bit under your eyes and wait a few minutes for it to soak in before applying your concealer or foundation.

MAC Pro longwear Paint Pot - This is a pigmented eye color that is really creamy.  It goes on smooth and creates a seamless coverage without creasing or caking.  We use it under our eyeshadow as an eyelid primer.  I have noticed quite a difference in how my eyeshadow holds up throughout the day.  This is the color 'Painterly' but 'Soft Ochre' would be a beautiful light color as well.  Pro longwear Paint Pot

This look is so easy to put together, a patterned dress and a little jacket.  Perfect for a day when you want to look pulled together but don't know what to wear.  A patterned dress is everywhere right now.
