lace dress in Nashville

On vacation, I like to be comfortable and stylish.  What's better than a dress?  How about a lace dress!!!?  This past weekend we took a couples trip to Nashville.  I had actually gone in to Old Navy last week a couple days before leaving with plans to get this stripe dress that Betsy did in this post.  Unfortunately they did not have my size and I didn't have time to order it.  Luckily, this cream lace dress caught my eye and I knew it would be perfect with booties for Nashville!

Have you been to Nashville?
 Or should I say "NashVegas"!
It was my first visit there and we had a blast.  The ladies spent the first day there boutique shopping, lunching and enjoying some drinks while the guys watched football at a bar.  That night we had a fabulous dinner at etch Restaurant.  Then spent the night dancing to live music at a couple bars on Broadway.  There were some great performers!  The next day we brunched at Sinema (did you see the spicy Bloddy Mary on instagram?  Delish!  It revived me for the day ahead!), relaxed while watching some football then had a fun night of bar hopping and enjoying a variety of food (hot chicken!), drinks, and music at various places.

Tie Neck Blouse + Link-Up

One of the biggest trends this Fall is the tie-neck blouse.  Its everywhere you look and quite an easy trend to wear.  It falls in with the 70's inspired look in a feminine classy way.  We love the flowing ease of these silk blouses.
It's so fun being able to share this blog together.  Because of our distance its hard for us to do pictures together.
We'd thought we'd switch things up a bit today by joining "together" in this post and sharing some fun facts about us.

~ We are identical twins.
~ Born 11 minutes apart.
~ I have a birthmark on my leg which helped our parents tell us apart as babies.  (When we look back at our baby pictures, it's impossible to tell us apart!)
~ Our parents dressed us alike for the first few years.  I wore accents of blue and Katey wore accents of red.
~ In Middle School and High School we were doubles tennis partners.
~ We went to the same college - Miami University of Ohio and majored in Dietetics.  Neither one of us ended up working in our major.
~ Katey joined a sorority.  I did not.
~I am a huge dog lover.  Katey likes dogs but is timid after being "attacked"/"knocked down" by a huge dog as a little girl.
~ We both prefer chic flicks or suspense movies over scary.
~ My youngest son and Katey's oldest daughter were born 10 days apart, unplanned.
~ Both of us don't really like long sleeves.  Most of the time you'll see us with our long-sleeves rolled or pushed up.
~ I love white wine and Katey loves red.
~Neither one of us has a tattoo!
~We both love making lists and crossing items off!
~We both have natural curly hair, that we straighten every day.

We'd love to hear a random fact or two about yourself!!

Many of the items in Halie's Boutique give back in some way to the community or an organization.  Some of the products are even made by local artists.  I love supporting local small businesses and I really love their concept of giving back.

Seven on Saturday

Wow, another week in the books.  For me, this week went really fast.  We were supposed to be in Wilmington (the beach) for a soccer tournament this weekend, but a rain front has parked itself over the state of NC, so it was cancelled.  And now we have an open weekend with nothing planned. Yippee!!  Below is our favorite 7 of the week.

1. Do you have a fur vest for Fall/Winter?  This Striped Camel Faux Fur Vest is my favorite from last year and it's available again this year.  It's $42!!  I have an XS for reference.  The longer length is perfect to wear with leggings.

2. Remember The Peanuts characters?  They are coming to the big screen Nov. 6.  Click here to customize a Peanuts character to look like you!  Below is mine!

3.  Do you have a blanket scarf yet?  They are super popular.  We did a roundup of our favorite plaid scarves here and earlier this week I wore my favorite pink blanket scarf from Target last year (here).

4.  I bought these sunnies this week and love them.  They are a look alike to the popular Prada sunglasses but only a fraction of the cost!  I highly recommend them.

5.  This is my most recent eye shadow palette purchase.  It's a little pricey, but I love it because I am really into "pink" shades right now.  I just saw this new palette online at Sephora and want to see it in person.  The colors are gorgeous, but I'm not sure if I'd wear the brighter colors.  Has anyone tried it yet?

6.  Since it is raining here, I am planning on doing some Fall baking this weekend.  Pinterest has an amazing roundup of pumpkin recipes.

 7.  Did you know there are only about 13 weeks until Christmas?  Time to panic!  A friend told me of a new app to help track your Christmas lists and shopping.  Check it out here.

Enjoy your weekend.  Let us know what you're up to!!

A Fall necessity: the puffer vest

The puffer vest might just be the best Fall essential.
I wear my vests now through Winter.  Even in the freezing snowy cold.  When running errands or running around with the kids, big puffy winter coats can get bulky and constricting when in and out of the car.  These puffer vests are just right and you can wear them with just about anything.  Seriously anything!  This off white vest is by far my favorite color.  I have other colors as well, but find myself drawn to the white most of the time.
As the temps drop, you can layer a blanket scarf around your neck and add warm layers underneath.

I'm a sucker for stripes.  It's crazy how many stripe shirts I have.  When I saw this suede shoulder tee, I was sold.  The color is gorgeous and the suede detail on the shoulder is a perfect Fall touch.

Shirt: J. Crew // Vest: J. Crew Factory // Jeans: old, love these (sale!) and  these ($59!) // Heels: Dolce Vita or love these flats  // Tote:  Nordstrom - LOVE!  (comes in 7 color combos) // Watch: Michael Kors // Ring:  Nordstrom  //Necklace: Kendra Scott //  Bracelets: Cadyn & Charlie //  Sunnies: borrowed from hubby - Ray-Ban

Did you catch our post yesterday?  Betsy styled a striped swing dress with an adorable plaid blanket scarf AND we joined up with some fabulous ladies to give away a $500 Nordstrom Gift Card.
