Have you heard of the third-piece rule? Your top and bottom are your first and second piece. Your third piece is the added bonus to pull your outfit together: a purse, scarf, hat, statement necklace or piece of jewelry, jacket, sweater, vest, etc. It's basically a way to make yourself look polished and pulled together and adds interest to a "regular" outfit. Consider this your simple trick to create chic outfits.
While this outfit is pretty casual with flats and ripped jeans, the added jacket on top leads to a pulled-together outfit.
I had been on the hunt for a new utility jacket. I was looking for one that was longer in the back, not too stiff, and the perfect olive green color. This is it! And the best part - it's only $25. I've had it for just a couple weeks and I've worn it multiple times. Over a dress, a sweater, a long turtleneck tunic, and this dressy blouse. I've added a fur scarf with it, as it's still pretty cold here but it is the perfect weight for going in to Spring.
Finding pieces that can finish an outfit are a closet necessity.

I have a jacket very similar to that one, but I don't have in it that color! Looks like it's going to have a new home in my closet here soon! Thanks for sharing!
