Embroidered detailing for the Spring/Summer is a trend I can get on board with!
A dress, or top, with a touch of embroidered detailing is perfect for all Spring/Summer occasions. As the weather warms up, this is a dress you need. It's just so fun, with the bright colors and the ruffle sleeves. It's currently sold out in this coral color, but is available in white, which is so pretty too. For a size reference, I'm wearing a Small.
It's been a rough couple days 'round here. Over the weekend, our 16 year old lab, Bailey, was really having trouble with her allergies. She currently takes a daily allergy pill, but it wasn't enough to help with the Spring blooms. She started with a small hot-spot on her back hip, which then turned into a huge spot from her scratching and licking. We put an old t-shirt on her to prevent her from licking but it was already infected. So we headed to the vet yesterday (I swear it's worse than waiting at the doctors office!). Now she's on meds and we have cleanser to clean the spot, so she's on the mend. But I spent the last 2 nights sleeping on the couch next to her to make sure she was ok. I literally woke up everytime she moved! So I'm now exhausted and already in need of a nap today! :)
Thanks for stopping by!

The next best things to your favorite jeans? Stripe cropped skinny pants!!
Let me start by saying how comfortable these pants are! So soft. I love the relaxed fit and the washed look. I think they will also be cute with sneakers or flip flops.
So the kids finally made it to Spring Break!!! Yippie!!! Katey and her kids are currently on their Spring Break in Florida and ours has just started (as of today). We aren't going anywhere, just going to relax at home, sleep in (amen!), hang with friends and do some fun things around town. Sometimes the staycations are just as nice!
We are headed somewhere fun the week after Spring Break though. I know, weird. It's just the way things worked out with my husbands business conference. So the kids will be missing 3 days of school for our trip, but it'll be worth it. Stay tuned to see where we are headed. It's probably not any warmer than the weather here in NC, but we've never been there before and it's been on our list of places to visit for years.
Happy Good Friday!

With Spring here I'm starting to break out the neon colors! And what better way than with a striped neon blouse.
I found this blouse at LOFT (right now they have 30% off almost everything, including this top) last week and was drawn to it because of its color and of course the stripes!! The color online says its coral but it defiantly is more neon pink to me! I love it paired with the bright white jeans to really help it pop. Working neon and bright colors into your wardrobe, after a long winter of dark colors and heavy fabrics, will for sure get you noticed and help you stand out.
I am one of those girls who loves the sun! I love it coming in my windows at home, the clear blue sunny skies we have here in NC, the sun roof open in my car and of course sitting in the sun by the pool. But as I've gotten older I've learned how bad being in the sun really is, from wrinkles to skin cancer. Over the last few years I always tell myself that I'm going to stay out of the sun as much as I can and to wear sunscreen as much as possible. It's just a habit I need to get into. But by time summer comes and we start heading to the pool, I seem to forget all that and soak it all up from my lounge chair. But not this year!!
I think the reason I love the sun so much is the tan I get from being in it. So I figured that if I tried a sunless tanner and got a tan that way, I wouldn't be tempted to sit in the sun. I didn't want a sunless tanner that turned my skin orange. I wanted a natural looking tan. So I did some research first. I found Loving Tan and read how their mousses give you a natural looking tan in just a few minutes. It has a natural olive color, not orange, all natural ingredients and an instant bronzer so you can see where you are applying it (use the mit for an easier application). The other plus, it dries in just a couple minutes. Right now I'm using the shade Dark, but think I will switch to Ultra Dark closer to summer. I love this sunless tanner and will continue to use it all summer long! You can get a free applicator mit by using code 'TWOPEASINABLOG' at checkout. It really does make applying the lotion easier and keeps it off the palms of your hands.
