Faster Way to Fat Loss - our first round thoughts and pictures

If you follow us on Instagram Stories, then you know we've been doing the Faster Way to Fat Loss program.  It's a 7 week program, the first week being prep week.  It combines intermittent fasting with carb cycling for real fat loss.

We are almost to the end of this round, currently in the middle of the last week.  We wanted to go ahead and share our before/after stats as well as our overall thoughts on the program now, because the next round starts Monday the 29th.  If this is something you're interested in doing with us, you can sign up here.

Ok - before we share our before/after pictures we thought it would be important to share "why" we decided to do Faster Way to Fat Loss .


Katey:
 I've been working out consistently for years but haven't toned up in a few stubborn areas, like my stomach from having 3 kids!!  I didn't join this program to loose weight -  mainly just to tighten up.  In the 6 week program, I was on vacation for 2 of those weeks.  I continued with the intermittent fasting but did indulge a bit while on vacation.  As we all should!!!  The program totally works with your real life!! 

Here are my stats:
Before - Feb. 24th 2019
119 lbs

After - April 23rd 2019
116 lbs

Overall, I lost 3 1/4 inches.  These inches were lost around my midsection, hips, and thighs.



Betsy:
I used to work out religiously, but then got burned out and for the past year or so, have done next to no working out.  I went into this plan hoping to tone up a bit and of course lose a little fat!!  I was by no means over-weight and didn't have much to lose, but we all have our areas we want to improve!

Here are my stats:
Before - March 11th 2019
123 lbs.

After - April 23rd 2019
118 lbs.

Overall, I lost 4 1/2 inches.  I've noticed that my arms and legs are more toned and my stomach is less bloated.  




Both Betsy and I had never done a carb-cycling/intermittent fasting program before.  It was eye-opening.  We were both amazed at how we had actually not been eating enough food throughout the day.  In fact, on this program, there were many days that it was tough to reach the full caloric intake. 

With anything, there is always positive and negatives.  Here are our true thoughts on Faster Way to Fat Loss. 

THE GOOD 

*You can eat real food.  No foods are off limits as long as you plug them in and they fit within your daily allowances.
*You aren't depriving yourself of food.  There is no calorie restricting on this plan.  You actually eat a lot of food.
*It fits into real life
*With the program, you are given all the info/help/support you need to succeed.  You are given a certified coach to lead you and a Facebook team to support you.  This includes meal ideas and workouts.
*It's about progress...not perfection.  If you miss your numbers one day, you just jump back into it the next day and try harder.  

THE BAD

*Coffee!!!  There is a difference of opinion, but our coach suggests no half-n-half or creamer with your coffee before you break your fast.  This was the hardest part in the beginning.  We have since adjusted, but if you are a coffee lover like us, it's hard.  (Nutpods and almond milk are allowed - and we share our go-to morning coffee often on stories)
*The evening wine.  Who doesn't love a glass of wine at night? I did not drink wine on low carb days.  On full macro days, I was able to enjoy a glass or two.  You have to be careful, however, because it technically still needs to be consumed in the eating window.  There were instances where I did not stick to this.  I'm happy to share more details on this if you all would like.    
*Eating dinner earlier.  With our kids' busy schedules, we found ourself not eating dinner until 8-9:00.  It's just how life is right now.  We've tried to make some adjustments to get finished eating by about 7:00 to start our fasting period, but some nights we didn't finish eating until 9.  That pushed our morning meal the next day back a little.  
*Treats!!  Not gonna lie.  We love our treats and I'm (Betsy) a huge baker and find relaxation in baking.  So this has been hard for me.  Treats are saved for Saturdays with FWTFL.  On the plus side of this, I have learned to try new recipes to bake!!

LOOK 1:

I mentioned on my stories when I first pulled this stripe tunic out of the box, I was a little unsure of it.  Not really thinking it was something I'd like.  But I was so wrong!!  It's adorable on, long enough for leggings, and the stripes have a little shimmer to them for fun!!  The tunic works left long, front tucked or knotted (like here).  I'm wearing a size small.

Jean shorts are a huge must have for Summer, so I was thrilled to get this pair in my Trendsend box.  It's hard to find jean shorts that aren't too short.  This pair has a 3in inseam so they are a good length for me.  If you are looking for a longer length, this pair is a great option.  I'm wearing my normal size 26.
