Why you need a bucket bag.

Meet my new obsession…the bucket bag!

I've been wanting one for months and finally bit the bullet and bought this beauty during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  I love the lighter color (it comes in 3 colors), and the chain strap that can be long or short.  And of course it has the signature Rebecca Minkoff tassels!!

I'm not one to change my purse on a daily basis.  I usually buy purses in a neutral shade and they already match my outfit.  It's just easier for me than switching everything I carry in a purse to a new purse everyday.  And I carry a lot with me!  I do switch purses for special events or a night on the town.  This is why the bucket bag is the perfect bag.

Reasons why you need a bucket bag.

1. Its a functional bag that can be carried multiple ways but still looks polished.  It's not structured like a satchel and not casual like a cross body.  It sits somewhere in the middle being casual yet chic.

2. Its moveable shape allows it to be roomy with being oversized.  I love my large totes, but sometimes they do get in the way and are hard to carry.  This bucket bag easily holds all my things.

3. It can be worn with anything.  I love it paired with my distressed denim above, but it also will look fabulous with my jeans this Fall or even a dress.  The leather and chain strap works with both casual and dressier outfits.  A total win!

The original bucket bag is the Mansur Gavriel and they are beautiful, but the price starts at $485. and they are sold out and hard to find.  Luckily bucket bags can be found at almost any price point and just about in any store.

Tips for wearing neon

I love wearing neon colors!  Betsy does too!  Did you see her neon yellow post yesterday?
Neon colors can make such a statement.  Many people think neon is only for Summer, but don't make that mistake!!  I love wearing neon colors year round.  Try wearing a neon sweater like this cardigan or wrapping up in a neon scarf for an unexpected Fall/Winter color.

Neon pink is one of my favorite colors to wear and this blouse from The Mint Julep Boutique is gorgeous!  The cap sleeves are so flattering and the crochet detailing around the neck is stunning.

When wearing neon, there are some things to keep in mind.  Below are tips to wearing neon.

Tips on Wearing Neon:
* If you are uncertain about neon colors, start off with neon accessories like a belt, shoes, jewelry or a purse.  These lime earrings are a beautiful color.  Or wear your neon on the bottom.  I love these Neon Peach Skinny Jeans, this Coral skirt, and these chartreuse shorts.

*If you are worried you won't look good in neon colors, try coral.  It's rich tone is universally flattering.  This coral dress and this coral sweater would be perfect.

*Keep your jewelry simple.  Let the main focus be your neon!

*Wear your neon with neutral shades like white, camel, or grey.

*Go bold and wear multiple neon colors together.  Try bright blues + oranges OR pinks + yellows together.

Do you wear neon?

Neon + 3 things on my mind

Neon, distressed denim and wedges.  My favorite summer combination!

I love so many things about this top.  The color is such a bright neon, like a yellow highlighter.  The crochet detailing on the top and the silk material on the back add to its beauty.  It was such a comfortable top to wear running errands.  Of course I had to pair it with my distressed denim, my most heavily worn piece of clothing this summer!

Top: Sanctuary // Shorts: Charlotte Russe // Tote:Target // Wedges: Sam Edelman, similar here // Sunnies: Nordstrom // Watch: Michael Kors, also love this // Neon Bracelets: Dibadani (they have the best tassel jewelry)

3 Random things on my mind this week:
1. As I mentioned in yesterdays post, I really want to find a pair of gladiator sandals.  Not the kind that lace up to your knee, but the kind that hits just above the ankle.  I know I'm a little late to the game, but I'm ready for a pair now.  The only problem is I can't seem to find them in the stores, at least not what I'm looking for (I'm not picky or anything!).  Does anyone have any recommendations?  Isn't that what always happens?  You see something everywhere and then once you decide you want it too, it can't be found.  So frustrating!!

2.  I've always been a big reader.  Growing up with a mom who was a High School English teacher contributed to that.  I usually read every night when I get into bed.  First, its the only real time I have to read during the day and second, it helps relax me and clear my head before drifting off to sleep.  Lately though, I've been spending too much time at night scrolling through Instagram and before I know it, my eyes are heavy and I fall asleep before opening my book.  My goal, starting tonight, is to cut myself off from my phone when its time to go to bed and to get back in the habit of reading.

3.  Peach season is in full swing down here in NC.  I've made my peach crisp already and am dying to try these peach bars.  They are on my agenda for the weekend!  I'll let you know how they turn out.

Outfit Inspiration

Pants: J Crew // Tank: J Crew Factory // Sandals: Nordstrom // Sunnies: Kate Spade // Necklace: Baublebar // Bracelet: Baublebar // Nail Polish: Essie Picked Perfect

This outfit inspiration is centered around these amazing shimmery pants from J Crew.  They come in this fatigue color and champagne.  After putting this outfit together, I'm thinking I need to go try these pants on for myself.  I love them!  I think they are so versatile for both day and evening and will transition into Fall.

Gladiator sandals are everywhere this summer.  I've shied away from them thinking they were a style I couldn't pull off.  But now I'm thinking I need to try this shorter version.  I like how they only come up to just above the ankle, not all the way up to your knee.  Have you tried a gladiator sandal?

Have a great Tuesday!

Basic Tee & Flare Jeans

Wasn't it just Monday??  Times flies ridiculously fast.

Even as a fashion blogger, there are days where I just don't know what to wear and nothing is jumping out to me when I'm staring in my closet.  Please tell me you have those days too!?
A simple tee can be the answer.  This Free People tee is unbelievably soft and I love the v-neck and hi-low hemline.  It's a little more than I typically spend on a tee but the quality and color is so worth it!  It comes in a variety of other colors as well.  This emerald color is gorgeous!!  If you are looking to spend a little less, I also love J. Crew Factory Tissue V-neck tees.  They are on sale for $14.50!  What a steal.  And if you love the burn-out look like this Free People tee I'm wearing, here is a more affordable option.

I can't end the post without commenting on the flare jeans.  Are you giving them a try this Fall?  I've linked a few below that are on sale or under $50.

Tee: Free People // Jeans: old, love these (on sale) and these (on sale) and these ($44!) // Heels: Dolce Vita // Tote: Street Level // Bead Bracelet: Cadyn & Charlie // Sunnies: DITTO Endless Eyewear (Use Promo Code TWOPEAS to get your first month FREE!) More info. in this post.

Olive Green Tunic

This tunic was one of my purchases from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.  It definately gets my vote as a Fall (or anytime of the year) "must have" shirt.  I mean it has "perfect" in the title of the shirt.  The length is perfect to wear with shorts, jeans, or leggings.  I left it untucked for a tunic look with skinny jeans but I'm sure I'll style it with a 'half-tuck' quite often.  The v-neck is flattering and this sleeve length is my favorite.

One of the top colors for Fall is this beautiful olive green color.  Call it army green, safari, dried herb, or whatever you want, it's such a pretty Fall color.  Some other beautiful olive green items are this cardigan sweater, these skinny jeans, these jogger pants, and I'm obsessed with this quilted vest and these heeled booties.

Tonight my husband and I are playing glow-ball golf at our Country Club.  I'm looking forward to a fun night out with my hubby and friends.  What are your plans for the weekend?

My dear college friend, Michaela, gave me this beaded bracelet a few years ago.  This Haitian Bead Jewelry is made by women in Haiti out of recycled cardboard.  Every piece is uniquely made.  Amazing!

Blue & White + Family time

This past weekend my family took a little vacation to French Lick, Indiana.  Have you ever heard of it?  It's a little town about 2 hours South of Indianapolis.  French Lick Springs Hotel was the winner of the 2015 USA Today's 10Best Reader's Choice Award for Best Historic Hotel.  It was established in 1895.  It was the perfect location for a low-key family getaway.  We played Footgolf (played on a golf course but you use soccer balls and aim for "larger than normal" holes), splashed in the pool, played frisbee golf, took a 5 person surrey bike ride, ate some delicious food, and gambled at the casino one evening while the kids relaxed at the hotel.  The sister hotel to French Lick Springs is the West Baden Springs Hotel located right next door.  It's over a century old and has an eye-inspiring atrium.  These pictures were taken at West Baden Springs gardens.

How about this gorgeous blue off-the-shoulder blouse!!  It's now on sale!  The loose fit and short sleeves are so flattering.  It is so light weight and easy to wear.   Disregard my crazy tan lines as we had spent the day the pool with the kiddos.  It was so hot so the hair had to go up!

If you aren't a fan of off-the-shoulder shirts, here is how it looks on the shoulder.

Blouse: Vince Camuto (SALE!!) // Jeans: Articles of Society ($54!!) // Purse: Rebecca Minkoff (LOVE!) // Wedges: last year; love these and these are on sale // Earrings: Ily Couture // Watch: Michael Kors // Bracelets: Cadyn & Charlie and Stacked Southern Charm // Sunnies: Sold Out, very similar here
