Bonus Room Makeover with Minted - Part 1

When we built our home 8 years ago, the bonus room was the playroom for the kids and a catch-all for old furniture.  So now that the kids are older and need a place to hang with their friends instead of a playroom, I decided to redecorate.

One of my concerns was the long bare wall to the right when you first walk in the room.  I needed something to fill the blank space and knew I wanted art work.  I was introduced to Minted and was able to find the perfect prints, at a large size, to really fill up the wall.  Minted is full of independent artists and designers.  They offer art, stationary and home decor.

For my bonus room, I was going for a neutral theme, staying with whites, creams and grey.  I added color in the artwork and pillows.  I just love these 3 prints together.  I chose to get them in a large size (30x30), all the same and hung them right next to each other.  The framed prints turned out exactly how I'd hoped.

The bonus room is almost finished.  We had a small problem with the sofa we ordered not fitting through the door (crazy!).  So that was sent back and we had to order another sofa.  Once that is in, I will be doing another blog post of the full room.  I can't wait to show you my 2 side chairs!  They are so cute.  Even now, without the sofa, it's my favorite room in the house!!

  1. Oh no the sofa! We almost had the same problem with our farmhouse table. My dad hand built it, so luckily it fit. Love what you did to the room, neutrals are my best friend. You can always add different accessories with pops of color through out different seasons. Plus that pop of pink is gorgeous. Great choice on filling up that huge blank wall! Can't wait to see what it looks like with the new sofa. :)

  2. Cute room makeover, looks amazing!

  3. With so many home interior ideas on the market, decorating is never easy, but it looks like you've managed it just fine. Since the living room is the place where the family gets together, it should be well equipped to accommodate everyone. If you're planning a kitchen update, then you should contact the samsung appliance dealer, there are some great offers that shouldn't be missed.
